As part of our ongoing growth strategy, we are looking to employ a Graduate Minerals, Waste & Environmental consultant to support our existing, specialist, team.

Established in 1992, Yorkshire-headquartered The Mineral Planning Group Ltd. (MPG) are a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy specialising in the planning and permitting of minerals and waste sites, alongside their ancillary developments such as aggregate recycling and waste transfer facilities, across the UK.

MPG have a reputation for securing planning permission and Environmental Permits on behalf of operators in challenging environments and we are recognised for always providing straightforward advice, regardless of the situation.

The core workload will be centred around providing support in the preparation and co-ordination of planning and permit applications for minerals and waste sites across the Country alongside undertaking environmental monitoring.

The successful candidate would be supported, day-to-day, by a senior consultant with input from the wider team on-demand as necessary.

The ideal candidate must have work placement (or similar) experience in one of the following areas:

  • Environmental Consultancy
  • Geo Environmental Engineering
  • Geo Technical Engineering
  • Environmental Permitting
  • Town and Country Planning


  • Work Experience in a relevant sector
  • BSc in either an Environmental/ Earth Science or Town and Country Planning
  • Full UK Driving Licence


  • Experience in environmental monitoring (water sampling, gas monitoring)
  • Junior or Student membership of a Chartered Organisation such as IEMA or The RTPI

Salary and Benefits:

  • £22,500 - £25,000 depending on experience

  • Provision of necessary PPE and/or technical equipment

Location / Hours:

  • Part flexible working location – A degree of weekly in person attendance at our head office in Bingley will be required (to be agreed on a case-by-case basis).
  • Site work / visits will be commonplace
  • Core hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm (again, flexibility around these hours can be agreed on a case-by-case basis)
