Rushcliffe Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager – Environment to join their team.

Location: Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £36,477 to £39,141 per annum
Job Type: Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week

Team Manager - The Role:

An exciting opportunity has been created within Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Community Development Team for an ambitious, forward thinking individual to lead a team in delivering the Councils commitments to achieving carbon neutral status from its direct operations by 2030. The role will also play a key role in influencing the Borough’s communities, internal stakeholders, partners, and businesses to take similar steps towards reducing their emissions.

Based within our Communities Team the role will also work across the full range of Council services to drive the delivery of our Carbon Management Action Plan, taking responsibility for monitoring, updating, developing, and reporting on its progress.

Team Manager – Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate a real passion for the environment and will be responsible for ensuring the work programme is carried out, new work coordinated, deadlines are met, and the work of the team is widely promoted.

Team Manager – You:

The successful candidate will join a vibrant team and will need to be flexible in their approach to work, with experience of managing staff and budgets, working in partnership, be able to deliver projects on time and develop an understanding of the priorities of a range of partner agencies.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A knowledge of climate change issues
  • Ability to build and maintain an internal and external network and either lead teams or lead others without formal authority; must be able to represent environmental sustainability across the authority
  • Strong project management and effective communication skills
  • Direct experience of working on environmental projects/programmes with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm, an open-minded approach, and the ability to overcome problems and identify practical solutions
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of industry trends, governmental regulations, and environmental sustainability best practices
