Risk & Policy Analysts Limited (RPA) is an employee-owned independent consultancy with an established reputation and proven expertise in the fields of UK and EU policy, economics, environment, chemicals and sustainability.

We provide multi-disciplinary, innovative, expert advice and strategic analysis skills, assisting both public and private sector decision makers in the development and implementation of sustainable policies. We offer a broad range of services and utilise a variety of skills in order to produce high quality, tailor-made outputs. We are seeking a Consultant to support the Environment & society team in delivering and growing our portfolio of work. Our mission is to help clients create a better environment and society.

We operate agile working meaning you can work where and when you need to flexibly. We believe this enables people to have the work life balance they need. When you want to be in the office you can be based at either our head office in Norwich, Norfolk, or in London (based on the current COVID situation, we are following the relevant governmental advice and guidance). This is a permanent role that can be full time or part time role.

For the position as Consultant you will probably have:

  • At least 3 years’ success in a consultancy environment or similar;
  • Experience of supporting on the full project lifecycle, including tender preparation, for impact assessments, studies and/or evaluations according to UK Green book or EU Better Regulation guidelines, including design of consultation and data collection strategies and implementing such activities (interviews, surveys, workshops, conferences) as well as policy/economic analysis (CBA, analysis of efficiency and effectiveness);
  • Experience of applying research methods drawing on both quantitative and qualitative evidence;
  • Some project management skills and experience of leading relevant projects for public sector clients;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and proven ability to deliver high quality reports.

Additional skills that are desirable include:

  • Knowledge of how to develop and run workshops, focus groups and semi-structured interviews;
  • Ability to create innovative methodologies to meet clients’ needs;
  • Demonstrable skills in stakeholder engagement;

Salary and benefits

Salary is transparent and will be within our pay ranges of £27,500 to £41,000 (Depending on experience). There is also an additional £3,000 London weighting where applicable. We offer up to 38 days holiday a year and after 6 months you will gain equity in the business via the employee-owned trust which brings tax free bonuses, profit share and a voice in the future of the company.
