The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) is an organisation for farmers and the public led by nature friendly farmers across the UK.

We support farmers on their nature friendly farming journeys and demonstrate to policy makers and the wider public what farmers can do to help wildlife, the environment and climate whilst still producing plentiful quality produce. Farmers are key to addressing the climate crisis and wildlife decline and urgent policy support is also needed to take nature friendly farming to scale.

We are looking for a professional, persuasive and engaging individual with a sound understanding of current agricultural policy a good understanding of practical farming in Northern Ireland, and credibility within the farming community to drive forward the NFFN in Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will have the skills and personality to be able to bring together a dynamic coalition, particularly farmers, but also NGOs, farming representatives/unions, agri-businesses and food groups. This coalition will build, shape and advocate for a new food and farming policy and land management schemes in Northern Ireland that is good for farmers, nature and the environment. The post- holder will work closely with other NFFN staff involved in the farmer and public engagement strands of the NFFN’s strategy. Based in Northern Ireland and willing to travel to meetings and events where needed, the Sustainable Farming Lead will be part of NFFN’s farmer led team. Our team combines forward thinking farmers and staff working across the UK engaging in agriculture policy and working closely with farmers, our steering groups and other staff.
