Natural Health Service Co-ordinator

Do you have a passion for our natural environment and its ability to improve our health and wellbeing? Would you relish the opportunity to share this passion with others? If your answer is yes, this could be the role for you!

Here at the Mersey Forest, we see the natural environment – our parks, woodlands, and other green spaces – as a health asset; places that can contribute to the prevention and management of physical and mental health conditions.

The Natural Health Service Coordinator will have a passion for community engagement, working enthusiastically with our partners and stakeholders to deliver a wide range of community activities including Health Walks, Horticultural Therapy and Forest Schools.

Working alongside the Programmes Manager, the role is responsible for the day to day delivery of the Natural Health Service activity programme and to ensure successful project outputs and outcomes.

This role will suit an approachable and friendly individual who has the natural ability to showcase the benefits of the Service to encourage participation from others. You will have a keen interest in health improvement activities that use the natural environment and experience working with volunteers.

You will enthuse and inspire others, forming relationships with ease and use those skills to broaden the Service’s reach amongst the community, including areas of deprivation. As you become more familiar with the Service, you will seek to add value by identifying opportunities for development.

In addition to your invaluable interpersonal skills, you will be an excellent organiser and methodical in your approach to administration, record keeping and reporting. Contract or project management experience is important along with budgeting and financial control.

The ideal candidate will believe in our values and have a genuine desire to inspire communities to become healthier. Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this role and travelling for work purposes is essential.

Should you be interested in this role we would love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] for an application form and job description.

The closing date for applications is the 4th June and virtual interviews will be held on the 10th June 2021.
