A fantastic opportunity to gain experience of working for an environmental contractor and consultancy with a broad portfolio of clients and a constant stream of project work. This will be a varied role with the chance to get involved with many aspects of delivering environmental, landscape, arboricultural, ecology, and contracting projects, providing a range of learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attending site visits with Contract Managers to take notes on project specifications.
  • Assisting with environmental surveys and reports, including formatting and proof - reading.
  • Applying for environmental permits, agreements and notices, for example to carry out work on trees with Tree Preservation Orders.
  • Contributing to the production of Risk Assesment Method Statements;
  • Undertaking baseline data searches, accessing GIS and other sources;
  • Producing maps and plans using GIS and other specialist software;
  • Stock checking of essential items;
  • Contributing to tender applications and quotes;

Essential Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in geography, environmental or landscape related subjects;
  • Practical experience of field survey work; 
  • Good understanding of wildlife and the countryside; 
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office; 
  • Full, Clean driving licenc

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in writing professional reports;
  • Experience using specialist software such as GIS, Photoshop and CAD;
  • Membership of a relevant professional bod

This is a fixed-term position of 3 months, with the possibility of an extension.

Full time, Monday - Friday, 22 days annual leave, workwear and PPE provided as well as the use of  company vehicles.
