The Ecology Partnership are currently looking for an assistant ecologist to join our growing team on a permanent basis at our head office in Leatherhead, Surrey.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake and assist on a wide range of project work including preliminary ecological appraisals and protected species surveys including bat, reptile and great crested newt work. The post will require a mixture of field based and office work, covering mainly the south east of England, although we do occasionally take on project work further afield. Office based duties will include desk studies, report writing, mapping, assisting with biodiversity net gain calculations and data analysis.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and positive individual to complement our existing tight knit, friendly and hardworking team. The candidate will be expected to undertake night work throughout the survey season, this can be up to 3 evenings a week during peak survey season, largely for bat and great crested newt surveys to meet survey requirements of our clients.

The role is well suited for a recent graduate with a BSc or MSc in a relevant discipline. The candidate must have previous experience of carrying out ecological field work, preferably from a field surveyor role within a consultancy setting although this is not essential. The candidate must be a team player, with good organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written and must also have their own car and a full clean UK driving licence. Membership of CIEEM and experience with GIS, in particular QGIS would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will join a friendly, fun and supportive company, an ideal setting to develop and grow as a professional within the ecological consultancy sector and will be offered a competitive package with a range of benefits. The Leatherhead office is located within a former manor house close to the banks of the River Mole and is easily accessible from junction 9 of the M25.
