The Kickstart Scheme brings 16 – 24 year olds on Universal Credit together with a job placement in a career of their choice.

You can learn skills and gain experience in a role that’s right for you. Here at Groundwork East we have an exciting opportunity for you. If this role appeals to you, please discuss it with your Universal Work Coach and request a referral (but you can work on the application or letter in the meantime!)

Job Title: Carbon Charter Assistant

Hours: 25 hours per week
Contract Type: 6 months

Groundwork East is looking for a motivated, organised individual to help support and drive membership of the Carbon Charter programme. The Carbon Charter is a sustainable business network providing support to small and medium sized businesses in Suffolk and Norfolk. Member businesses achieve recognition of their carbon reduction achievements through the Carbon Charter environmental accreditation scheme and receive support to adopt sustainable business practices and achieve continual improvement.

The Project Assistant will be tasked with helping support and drive membership of the Carbon Charter programme via telephone and email, update the website and support the manager with processes and keeping accurate records.

We are seeking an individual with fantastic organisation skills as well as someone that is a great communicator. An approachable telephone manner will be essential, as will the ability to operate under pressure. The role is part of a small dedicated team working within a larger charity and thus the ability to work effectively in this environment is needed.

Please see our website for further details as well as how to apply. (You must be 16-24 and on Universal Credit, and please speak to your Universal Work Coach before you apply!)
