Keynsham Memorial Park sits at the heart of a number of strategic green infrastructure corridors in B&NES and the park plays a major role in helping to deliver the council’s key priorities:

  • Tackling the climate and ecological emergency.
  • Improving people’s lives.

There is increasing recognition of the importance of parks in the health and wellbeing of communities and the council has allocated up to £250,000 from developer’s contributions towards developing a masterplan and delivering a programme of investment in Keynsham Memorial Park.

The purpose of this role will be to:

  • Collect and develop evidence to inform investment in the park and to identify priorities for management and improvement.
  • Use this evidence base to produce a masterplan for the park which focuses on improving health and wellbeing, engaging residents and addressing climate and ecological emergency goals.
  • Develop the relationship between wider green infrastructure initiatives and the park and ensure that the space is linked to and complements these, to enhance the impact of this project and to secure additional funding.
  • Develop and deliver a capital investment programme in Keynsham Memorial Park to improve facilities.
  • Develop a new management plan and a long-term investment plan for the park which identifies and agrees responsibilities between partners.
