Human life on earth is facing unprecedented challenges. Global demand on natural resources has reached a critical level, whilst public engagement with climate change has never been so high. With this Sector Specialist role, we are particularly seeking to address the impact food systems have on greenhouse gasses and other environmental degradation.

This year WRAP turns 21; We’re coming of age and now more than ever we’re really making our presence felt. We work uniquely in the space between governments, businesses, communities, thinkers, and individuals – forging powerful partnerships and delivering ground-breaking initiatives to promote more sustainable economies and society. We are world renowned for taking facts to the right people, so they become actions that deliver change.

We are looking for a Sector Specialist with a practical knowledge of GHG accounting standards – including the GHG Protocol Scope 3 and Product Standards, PAS 2050 and relevant ISO standards. And, experience of working with the food & drink sector to apply these accounting approaches.

Can you provide knowledge and technical direction on measuring and reducing GHG emissions within food and drink systems? Collaborating closely with internal and industry stakeholders, you'll work on the challenges and priorities to help increase the pace of progress, overcoming barriers and driving down GHG emissions reductions in food and drink supply chains.

This is a permanent, full-time role, currently remotely based; post-COVID you will occasionally be required to attend the Banbury office.

When applying for the role, you will be asked to set out how you meet the following job essentials:

  • Provide knowledge leadership and technical project leadership on measuring and reducing GHG emissions within food & drink systems, developing the evidence base, practical tools and technical support needed to catalyse change.
  • Practical working knowledge of GHG accounting standards – including the GHG Protocol Scope 3 and Product Standards, PAS 2050 and relevant ISO standards.
  • Work closely with food & drink industry stakeholders to identify challenges and priorities to drive GHG emissions reductions; develop solutions that overcome barriers; and catalyse action.
  • Help develop new income streams to deliver WRAP’s objectives on GHG reduction.

WRAP welcomes applications from suitably qualified applicants, regardless of religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, disability, or race.
