Zebra Ecology is part of the Zebra Group, based in Worcester and working nationally on a diverse array of projects. These include large scale housing sites, strategic land, large scale master planning, commercial developments, independent schools, student accommodation, leisure development and bespoke private homes.

We have our own in-house team of Architects, Landscape Architects, Layout Designers, Technicians and Land + Development specialists and Ecology sits comfortably alongside all these disciplines, providing our clients with a 'one contact' service.

Zebra was established for a single purpose - to provide clients with a completely integrated approach to the appreciation and resolution of environmental issues associated with development proposals.  We pride ourselves on high-quality, well thought out and considered schemes right from the start of the design process to make sure developments are the best they can be.

About the opportunity:

Principal/Senior Ecologist

You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects from the get-go and provide ecological advice both within Zebra and to our  established client base. You will be responsible for conducting both field and office work and delivering technical reports.

This is a one-off opportunity for a confident, self-motivated individual to grow and nurture their own team, within our established multi-disciplinary practice.

To dazzle us you will:

• hold a degree in a relevant science or a closely related field
• have CIEEM membership (preferable)
• have a Natural England Bat Licence (minimum Level 2) and experience in surveying GCN, badgers, birds and reptiles.
• have experience in the UK regulatory framework including protected species licensing.
• be an experienced ecology surveyor and a good field scientist.
• be experienced in running your own projects and be client facing.
• have the ability to write clear and concise reports.
• have experience in BIA and ability to run BGN calculations.
• be responsible for the growth of the ecology team.
• have a current and full driving licence and have access to own vehicle.
