White Cliffs Countryside Partnership

The White Cliffs Countryside Partnerships (WCCP) was created to care for the special landscapes and wildlife of the Dover and Folkestone and Hythe Districts, and to help people enjoy them. WCCP is currently looking for two Rangers to join a great team and make a real difference to the special landscape and communities of Dover and Folkestone.

Working closely with partner organisations, one Ranger will assist with the management of Folkestone Warren Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and High Meadow LNR, the other will assist with the management of Western Heights LNR and Whinless Down LNR, as well as other sites across the Dover and Folkestone and Hythe districts, helping to implement the aims and objectives of WCCP. The Rangers will develop and lead a range of volunteer and public engagement events, promoting safe and welcoming access for members of the public.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of habitat management, especially grassland management
• Experience of wildlife monitoring and recording
• Experience of installing a range of countryside furniture
• Experience of working with volunteers on practical projects
• Experience of managing visitors and working with communities on urban fringe sites
• Ability to undertake physically demanding work on steep and difficult terrain
• Passion and interest in wildlife and conservation
• Understanding of wildlife and other land-based legislation
• Qualification in conservation, biology or similarly related discipline or experience of working in the countryside sector
• Outgoing and self-motivated
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• IT skills in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

These posts require you to have a full driving license and your own transport.

Due to the nature of the role, these posts require a standard DBS check.
