Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy (WWC) is an environmental consultancy operated through W.N.C.T Enterprises, a wholly owned trading subsidiary of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.

WWC was established 25 years ago to provide high quality ecological consultancy whilst generating an operating profit that is covenanted to the Wildlife Trust. Currently the business employs 4 permanent staff, supplemented by a small bank of associated contractors and generated a profit of 5% and a 15% turnover of £200,000.

After 22 successful years, the current postholder is moving on. This presents an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the new postholder to develop the business to meet the challenges and opportunities of the next 5-10 years. You’ll be responsible for leading, managing and developing the work of the consultancy and team through a programme of services, projects and activities (protected species surveys and advice, habitat and NVC surveys and advice, clerk of works / licencing services, practical habitat management, business development, marketing and brand development).

We are seeking someone with the following skills and experience:

• Experience from within a nature conservation / environmental consultancy
• Extensive experience of ecological survey and report writing along with working with clients to deadlines
• A relevant environmental degree or equivalent
• Broad ecological knowledge including management techniques, ecological survey and monitoring techniques
• Knowledge of business planning techniques, UK wildlife and planning legislation
• Excellent communication skills
• A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
