Cambridgeshire ACRE has a vacancy for a Natural Heritage & Communities Officer to work on the delivery of its new National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported project, New Life on the Old West.

Working closely with the New Life on the Old West Project Manager, the role will firstly involve supporting project partners, contractors and stakeholders to successfully deliver a raft of planned habitat enhancements across a range of sites.

The second key aspect of the role will be recruiting and leading a team of volunteers to undertake a range of citizen science, habitat enhancement and ecological monitoring activities. You will organise and lead activities as well as work alongside partners who will bring specialist expertise to the project.

A third aspect of the role will involve working alongside local communities and schools to coordinate, facilitate and promote a programme of public events to give opportunities for local people to learn about and connect with their local natural heritage.

We are therefore seeking an experienced project officer, capable of delivering conservation projects in a community setting, to join our team. A good knowledge of biodiversity and natural history, as well as experience of working with landowners, community groups and volunteers and organising/delivering public events is therefore essential.
