Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership

The Romney Marsh (RMCP) and White Cliffs Countryside Partnerships (WCCP) were created to care for the special landscapes and wildlife of the Dover and Folkestone and Hythe Districts, and to help people enjoy them.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team and make a real difference to the special landscape and communities of Romney Marsh. Working in partnership with Folkestone and Hythe District Council, Natural England and EDF Energy, you will assist with the management and wardening of Dungeness National Nature Reserve, Greatstone Dunes, Romney Warren and other sites across the Romney Marsh, helping to implement the aims and objectives of RMCP and WCCP. You will develop and lead a range of volunteer and public engagement events, promoting the Romney Marsh as a visitor destination.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of habitat management
• Experience of wildlife monitoring and recording
• Experience of using a range of tools on practical projects
• Experience of working with volunteers on practical projects
• Ability to engage with visitors/members of the public to ensure that the RMCP message, and that of its funders, is being communicated
• Passion and interest in wildlife and conservation
• Understanding of wildlife and other land-based legislation
• Qualification in conservation, biology or similarly related discipline or experience of working in the countryside sector
• Outgoing and self-motivated
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• IT skills in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
