Job Description
Main job purpose
Our Energy Team specialises in in helping client organisations to measure, manage and reduce
energy consumption and associated carbon emissions.
Our services include:
- Delivery of city/regional carbon reduction programmes;
- Development of carbon management strategies;
- Carbon footprinting and greenhouse gas reporting;
- Identification and assessment of energy savings; and
- Implementation of management systems including ISO 50001.
We are seeking individuals with experience and knowledge in energy management consulting.
Experience of identifying and developing business opportunities would also be of benefit.
Specific Skill and Competencies
As an Energy Consultant you will have an understanding of the following competencies:
- Ability to review, analyse and benchmark energy performance;
- Ability to identify potential technical solutions;
- Confident developing business cases for energy efficiency/low carbon projects;
- Experience of supporting organisations to secure funding;
- Tender strategy & documentation (Energy performance Contracting an advantage);
- Running procurement and contract award ;
Qualifications
Education, Qualifications & Experience
You have the following qualifications and experience:
- Suitably qualified in a related subject or appropriate industry experience;
- Relevant chartership or professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IEMA, IEE) EPC, ESOS and DEC
certified (desirable);
- Delivery of energy audits in organisations of all sizes; and
- Proficient and experienced in using MS office software including Outlook, Excel, Word and
PowerPoint.
Responsibilities and behaviours
As an Energy Consultant you are:
- A cooperative team member supporting senior team members in the successful delivery of
projects;
- Capable of independently completing tasks and activities and taking responsibility for your
own time management and ability to work towards overall project timescales and potentially
tight deadlines;
- Expected to support senior team members in business generation activities where required,
such as bid writing and developing marketing material;
- Capable of building strong, professional client relationships and identifying and resolving
client’s issues;
- Able to analyse information quickly and efficiently, choose or recommend from a range of
options and make decisions where the parameters are unclear and judgement needs to be
exercised;
- Aside from accepting personal responsibility for the quality and commercial delivery
aspects of your work you will be expected to develop skills and share knowledge within the
whole consulting practice;
- Well organised and methodical, with attention to detail
The individual must be flexible in terms of working location as overnight stays may be
required, and there may be a requirement to work across the UK and beyond when this arises.
