The Role
Within our Planning Liaison team, we are proud of the quality and efficiency of our work to ensure the right solution is delivered for our customers. We are responsible for providing accurate, relevant and timely information to developer customers, local planning authorities and customers on the serving of new developments.

This role provides an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Planning Liaison Engineer to have a real impact on the future investment in our sewerage and water supply services.

The role is diverse and offers a variety of responsibilities as you will carry out pre-development assessments on major developments. Regularly communicating with your colleagues and developers, you’ll be discussing the impact of proposed developments with relevant teams across the business; ensuring issues are identified and resolved with best outcome for the customer and Wessex Water. You’ll identify the need for any capacity improvements, as well as regularly reviewing and updating guidance and policies.

In this position, you will directly supervise a Planning Liaison Technician and assist them with their day to day enquires, with a prime focus on developing the PLT to own more complex enquires.

What are we looking for?
As a senior and self-sufficient Planning Liaison Engineer, you will have a sound understanding of the development management process that contribute to sewerage and water supply services. 

To be considered for this position, you will need to hold a Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification. Being a strong communicator, you will be able to confidently advise on developments that you are working on. Excellent written, presentation, IT and organisational skills would be a pre-requisite.
