Forestry England is the largest land manager and custodian of the nation’s public forests. We have around 1,000 committed staff looking after more land and more trees than any other organisation. It’s a job that never stops growing.

We are looking for an experienced Wetland Restoration Officer to lead on mire and stream restoration projects in the New Forest. You will join a team delivering SSSI habitat restoration programmes funded by the New Forest Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) scheme.

Using your proven knowledge of heathland and wetland ecological processes and habitats, you will produce site-specific plans, engage with local stakeholders and manage the restoration works, supervising contractors to ensure work is undertaken to a high standard.

A self-motivated individual, you’ll have practical experience of delivering wetland and/or stream restoration projects designed to deliver habitat restoration goals. You’ll also be a confident communicator with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

This is an exciting time to join the South Forest District as we look to secure and grow our economic, social, and natural capital of our forests. In return, we offer an attractive salary and benefits package including generous annual leave and a government pension scheme. We also provide a range of training and learning opportunities to help you develop your skills.
