Fishery Assistant – Full Time
Salary £18,000 - £22,000 (depending on experience)

Seven Lakes Fishery is based in Aldermaston and due to the growth of the business, we are in need of a full time Fishery Assistant to join our friendly team.

Knowledge of fish husbandry and water testing is crucial but further internal training will be given, to support the Estate Manager and his team to maintain the lakes.

We are looking for a strong individual who loves the outdoors and wants to further their knowledge of Fishery Management. Someone who is hard working, with common sense and must be keen to learn the environment that they will be working in.

This role has the potential for career development for the right candidate.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Fish Husbandry and testing water for chemicals/oxygen.
  • Netting of lakes and maintaining fishing equipment.
  • Attend bailiff meetings and work party days and cover bailiff duties when required.
  • Advise customer of best practices, tactics and provide good customer service.
  • Maintain onsite toilets and bins
  • Encourage and collect catch reports, including size, photos and send them to the Marketing team.
  • Support the Estate Manager to maintain the Country Park and lakes.
  • Support and attend the events that SLF hold. A DBS certificate may be required for these events.

Experience:

  • Having a Fishery management course would be an advantage, this might suit someone who is currently doing the course and would like to develop their skills in a full time role as a Fishery Assistant.
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C+ or equivalent
  • Basic IT skills
  • Fish Husbandry
  • Microsoft Word/Excel and Outlook

Hours of work will be Monday – Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm initially, with some weekend work in the busy periods on a rota basis.
