We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Home Energy Scotland team at Energy Saving Trust. You will work with Home Energy Scotland advice centres and contractors that support businesses and other organisations by providing employee engagement sessions and resources on saving energy and on preventing food waste.

The service: Home Energy Scotland is a Scottish Government programme managed by Energy Saving Trust. We are a network of local advice centres covering all of Scotland. Our expert advisors offer free, impartial advice on energy saving, renewable energy, sustainable transport, waste prevention and more.

You will support and enable colleagues who deliver workshops and webinars - you are not expected to deliver workshops unless the local advisor is unavailable. You will:

  • Coordinate Home Energy Scotland employee engagement sessions by webinar or workplace workshop
  • Coordinate delivery of Love Food Hate Waste webinars and workshops for Zero Waste Scotland.
  • Build and manage effective partnerships with stakeholders, national organisations and businesses.
  • Support the relationship between Zero Waste Scotland Energy Efficiency Business Support Scheme, Home Energy Scotland, and Energy Saving Trust’s SME loans service.
  • Manage and promote Home Energy Scotland E-learning – employees learn how to save energy at home through interactive e-learning.

You will lead the employee engagement activity, working collaboratively with the Home Energy Scotland network and key stakeholders. Locally based outreach advisors/facilitators deliver employee engagement workshops and webinars for Home Energy Scotland and Love Food Hate Waste to businesses, the public sector and third sector organisations. You will motivate and support the advisors/facilitators so that they deliver exceptional customer service and reach contractual targets. You will ensure they have the tools and resources to deliver the service and to accurately record and report activity. In response to Covid19 restrictions, online solutions are in place using a variety of webinar and online meeting platforms e.g. Zoom, Teams, GoTo; you will adapt these as necessary and train advisors/facilitators to use them.

You will build effective partnerships with national organisations, representing Energy Saving Trust and the delivery partnership which includes Zero Waste Scotland Energy Efficiency Support Service and Love Food Hate Waste. Your ability to manage relationships with them and with businesses through great communication and influencing skills will be key to your success.

Day-to-day you’ll work closely with external colleagues at the Home Energy Scotland advice centres, Love Food Hate Waste workshop facilitators, and Zero Waste Scotland Energy Efficiency Business Support Service. Internal to Energy Saving Trust you will work within the Home Energy Scotland team and with colleagues in the renewables transport and marketing teams. Energy Saving Trust Scotland is based in Leith, however, most staff are home-based for the time being.
