Land Management Officer

£19,000 pa

Permanent, full-time 35 hours

We are looking for a Land Management Officer in our East team. The successful candidate will help to deliver practical management of the Trust’s nature reserves and work with neighbouring landowners to deliver nature’s recovery in priority landscapes.

The East Region stretches from Bourton-on-the-Water in the North Cotswolds to Wickwar in South Gloucestershire on the east side of the River Severn. Nature reserves include the stunning Crickley Hill, Daneway Banks and Lower Woods.

The role will support the land management team in the delivery of a full and varied work programme across the east region. The post holder will supervise weekly volunteer work parties to achieve conservation objectives across a diverse range of habitats, including ancient woodland, floodplain meadows, wetlands and calcareous grasslands.

We are seeking to appoint a responsible and enthusiastic candidate for a job that delivers nature’s recovery through land management. With a passion for wildlife, the post holder will have a particular interest in woodlands and grasslands. Equally comfortable working individually or as part of a team, the candidate will have a diplomatic and personable approach and be capable of engaging and enthusing volunteers and members of the public.

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust works to connect and improve the county’s wildlife and wild places, managing important habitats which support national and European protected species. In the east region. GWT and its partners have embarked upon exciting landscape scale projects to create bigger, better and more connected ecological networks. The nature reserves provide the focal point for a Living Landscape vision where people and wildlife can thrive.
