Key responsibilities of this post include - managing, supporting and occasionally supervising teams of up to 10 volunteers carrying out practical projects; develop and deliver weekly paid practical project work through liaising with partners and land managers; develop plans and quotes for clients; day to day management and supervision of 2 staff members and voluntary officers; budget management and resource management together with publicity and fundraising.

The successful applicant will have had several years of experience working in the environment sector, have experience of business development and income generation. Be able to manage a budget, plan practical projects including ordering materials and other logistics. Be able to demonstrate competence across a range of practical conservation tasks, experience in supervising groups of people, an ability to communicate effectively with people with varying abilities and levels of influence, together with personal qualities of resourcefulness and flexibility.

You will be required to drive up to a 9-seater vehicle. For insurance this means you must meet the TCV driving requirements as described in the Person Specification.

A bit more about us:

We recognise that each community and the people living there have different needs. Whether improving wellbeing, conserving a well-loved outdoor space or bringing people together to promote social cohesion and combat loneliness, TCV works together with communities to deliver practical solutions to the real life challenges they face.

For over 60 years we have adapted our work with volunteers to reflect the changing needs of communities in the UK and, by giving people a sense of purpose and belonging, we have empowered them to take control of their lives and outdoor spaces for the benefit of all.

Whilst our activities vary, our inclusive approach has remained consistent; bringing people and places together to create happy, healthy and connected communities for everyone.
