Establish A Sustainable Future

From helping shape entire cities to adapting developments to provide climate resilience, a career at Buro Happold presents the chance to make a difference. With a world class reputation, our creativity and our people have delivered positive change to clients, the environment, and communities alike. If you want to be part of a team that helps shape the future of biodiversity, this is your chance.

We are looking for someone to join our Ecology team: work on projects across the UK and internationally. In this role, you will be able to use your knowledge and expertise to have a key influence on the outcomes of a wide variety of diverse and interesting projects - from international coastal developments to helping local authorities in the UK integrate nature based solutions for climate adaptation into their planning frameworks.

You will join a small, committed team, providing input into strategic environmental plans, development options analyses, masterplans and Environmental Impact Assessments. We often work directly with clients to enable them to proactively manage biodiversity at every stage of the planning process, including preparing conservation management plans in collaboration with species experts to enable effective management on the ground.

Whilst this role primarily involves working from home at present, in the longer term it is envisaged that this will extend to a mix of home and office working. This would ideally be from the Bath or London office, but we are open to considering other options in the UK for the right candidate. This is a permanent full-time role but again, we would be happy to be flexible for the right candidate.
