NHBS is looking for a Sales Coordinator (maternity cover) to join our growing team in Totnes, Devon. Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for the busy Sales and Customer Service departments, overseeing implementation of strategy and day-to-day management of both departments. No two days are the same - you will be responsible for a myriad of tasks and will work logically and efficiently, taking it in your stride when plans change or things go wrong. Above all you will be quick thinking, have a passion for customer communication and an intuitive way of working.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing two teams as well as cross-workers from other departments
  • Working alongside our Operations team to conceptualise and implement new working procedures
  • Working closely with all other departments in the business
  • Understanding key KPIs and reporting to the Senior Management team
  • Training new staff and making sure existing staff have ongoing training

Sales specific responsibilities:

  • Overseeing sales activity across our varied customer base, from naturalists to university lecturers and researchers to construction companies.
  • Business development - building relationships with key businesses
  • Overseeing market research and lead development
  • Day-to-day management of conference attendance and sales travel
  • Day-to-day management of sales budgets

Customer Service specific responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a diverse team handling the communication with customers from our English and German companies
  • Problem solving and helping the team to resolve customer queries
  • Dealing with difficult queries and challenging customers

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in leading a team 
  • Have an interest in natural history and conservation
  • Enjoy talking to people and have great communication skills
  • Be happy to muck in with the team and help out across the departments when necessary
  • Knowledge of a major European language would be beneficial

Our offer to you:

This is a temporary (one year maternity cover) position with the potential to become a permanent position. Salary: £23,500 p.a. based on a 37.5 hour week Monday - Friday, with the position attracting 28 days holiday p.a including bank holidays, up to three paid days of conservation volunteering p.a., and a generous company pension.
