The Conservation Volunteers

Every day TCV works across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone - communities where our activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects and outdoor places.

The Conservation Volunteers has been awarded a one year contract to manage The Paddock Nature Reserve in Tottenham Hale, North London. This contract supplements a wider TCV project including community engagement, a management plan write up and longer term aspirations for management of the site.

We are looking to employ a Project Assistant who will support a Senior Project Officer in managing the site and delivering volunteering activities to community members. This is an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to join our dynamic team in this new venture.

You will:

  • Support the organisation of high quality, practical environmental conservation projects for volunteers;
  • Deliver high quality, practical environmental conservation projects for volunteers;
  • Support other TCV initiatives on the site including engagement with schools and community events;
  • Manage resources, including tools and equipment;
  • Maintain safe working practices, including TCV Covid-19 guidance;
  • Support the recruitment, training and management of volunteers;
  • Deliver and support the delivery of corporate volunteering days;
  • Assist in record keeping activities as required;
  • Generally support the Senior Project Officer as required.

You will preferably have experience of working with volunteers, a wide range of practical environmental conservation skills, species ID and survey skills, and the personality, aptitude and experience to share them with volunteers of differing abilities.

IT literacy is required.

Regular weekend work will be required and will likely comprise two weekends out of every four.

A full driving licence is not required for this role but would be preferred.

A first aid certificate or willingness to obtain a first aid certificate is essential.
