Froglife is a national wildlife conservation organisation with a specific focus on the protection of amphibians and reptiles, and their habitats.

Froglife is seeking to recruit a Development & Learning Officer with a conservation & education background to develop and deliver the Sussex Green Pathways scheme. The post will require travel.

Development & Learning Officer Full-time 5x days per week (flexibility is essential and sessions will include after school hours and Saturdays)
Location: Home-based
Contract: One year contract.
Salary: £22,500

Froglife have been awarded a one year Reaching Communities Development Grant from The National Lottery Community Fund. The Development & Learning Officer will be expected to take a leading role in developing and delivering the Trust’s Green Pathways Project in Sussex, working with young people, aged 5-18, referred to Froglife by a range of partners who are working with vulnerable and/or disadvantaged young people. The role includes promoting conservation activities and the provision of a training scheme utilising the Trust’s existing educational, training & habitat resources.

Although the Green Pathways Scheme is well established in other areas in the UK we have not worked in Sussex before. The post holder will therefore be responsible for establishing a presence in the region, developing and trialling the Green Pathways model to reflect local requirements and fundraising to enable the project to continue once this 1 year development grant comes to an end. The scheme will work with a much higher percentage of older young people and will deliver a high percentage of sessions out of school hours. Sessions will be run after school, during school holidays and on Saturdays.

This project has specific targets and we will expect the successful candidate to be target focused. When submitting CVs and covering letter it is essential that you highlight previous work experience and targets that have been met.

For more information please visit: www.froglife.org. To apply please send a curriculum vitae (no more than 2x pages) with a one page covering letter detailing why you are suitable for this post to INFO@froglife.org. Please ensure that your name is in the title box of your CV and covering letter.
