A paid internship is available from late August / early September 2020 for 26 weeks to work with Galloway Fisheries Trust biologists on a range of projects.

Galloway Fisheries Trust is a conservation charity working on fish populations, their habitats and water quality across the freshwaters of Galloway. The successful applicant will be involved in delivering a range of research, conservation and community engagement projects.

Key items of work that the intern will assist with delivering include:

  • a ‘Galloway Glens’ project to enhance riparian and instream habitats on the Black Water of Dee
  • designing an eel research project and delivering an education project in local schools about eels

The candidate must be fit, motivated, hardworking and willing to work outdoors during all weather conditions. A full valid driving licence is essential.

This full time, fixed term intern post is a wonderful opportunity for a recent graduate with a conservation, fisheries or freshwater ecology degree to gain a range of valuable work experience. It is a funding condition that the intern must be a young person aged up to and including 25 years old.

Salary will be £350/week. Closing date for applications is 5:00pm on 6th August 2020.

Interviews plan to be held on the 11th August 2020.
