Assistant Technical Manager

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a career within the environmental / renewable energy sector, supporting the delivery of some of Ofgem’s high profile social and economic schemes, such as the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). You’ll be part of a small team, working to ensure that administration of environmental schemes is based on a thorough understanding of technical issues; that participants and other stakeholders have a clear understanding of technical aspects of schemes; and that we can deliver speedy and accurate technical evaluations of schemes’ applications. It’s a role that will see you work directly with key players in the industry, as well as with Government representatives.

It’s likely that you are qualified to degree level, or that you can demonstrate equivalent expertise through practical experience in your career to date. You’ll need a good knowledge of energy efficiency and / or renewable technology and be able to work with complex subject matter to arrive at clear recommendations. The ability to organise and prioritise your work is important, along with good all-round communication skills. If you enjoy working with others to solve problems, this a varied and interesting role, where you can have a positive impact on behalf of energy consumers and for the environment.
