Community Windpower is at the forefront of wind energy development in the UK with over 1GW built, under construction and in development. As renewable energy specialists, we are fully experienced in the identification, design, development, construction and operation of onshore wind energy projects.

We are looking to recruit a graduate searching for a career within the renewable energy industry, specifically wind power. Applicants with a Geographical, Ecological or Renewable Energy related degree are preferable as well having some experience of general office administration.

The role will involve working with our Project Development Team to identify, design and develop renewable energy developments in Scotland and the UK and will involve travel to these locations to attend meetings, undertake assessments and carry out site visits. The position is full time, based at our Head Office in Frodsham, Cheshire and we are looking for someone who can start immediately. The role will also include general office administration and front of house duties to support the overall running of the company.

Experience of using ArcGIS and AutoCAD would also be desirable but not essential.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Producing feasibility assessments and site appraisals;
  • Using GIS software to generate plans, scale drawings and to complete constraint assessments;
  • Using specialist software to design and develop wind farms projects;
  • Undertaking onsite field work and site investigations and preparing various environmental written reports;
  • Attend meetings and exhibitions and liaison with external consultees and the general public as part of our consultation work;
  • Delivering educational school presentations and working with local communities;
  • Assisting the Directors with tasks as required;
  • General office duties to support the business including but not limited to reception work, answering the telephone and taking messages, greeting visitors, stationery orders, scanning, filing, archiving and any other errands as required.

As the role will include site visits throughout the UK, a valid full driving licence is essential.
