Job Description – Marketing Executive

Location: Bristol

Hours of work: Temporary, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between hours of 09:00 - 18:00. The role is anticipated to last for a minimum of six months with the potential to go permanent for the right person.

About Eunomia’s Marketing Team:

Externally, Eunomia’s marketing team helps to raise the profile of the company as an industry authority, championing its values and supporting new business generation. It achieves this by providing marketing communications support to all areas of the business, primarily working with consultants to help communicate their work by generating engaging content and distributing it across all channels. As a values-based organisation, effective internal communication is also important to us and the marketing team works with all internal departments to deliver this.

In recent years, the team has achieved national and international headline news coverage for Eunomia based on thought leadership content and key messages from research and, in the process, helped to influence governments, industry and NGOs.

Job description:

The Marketing Team is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth and restructuring which the Marketing Executive will be a key part of. Directly supporting the recent Head of Marketing, the Marketing Executive’s primary responsibility will be to liaise with project teams across the business in order to identify and champion the work they do. Typically, this requires generating and editing content for use on the website and social media channels and, occasionally, writing press releases for trade press. The role also has responsibility for development and distribution of external monthly newsletters.

Internal communication tasks include: generating and distributing internal news bulletins and ad hoc internal communications, supporting the arrangement of the quarterly company meeting and delivering the marketing introduction to new employees during induction training.

Specific tasks include:

Project Communications

Driven by client project work undertaken by our consultants which usually culminates in reports.

  • Liaise with market/service area leads to maintain a schedule of projects/ reports for communication;
  • Draft/edit related content for use across website and social channels and disseminate across those channels;
  • Monitor response to social communications and manage appropriate response;
  • Occasionally, write press releases for trade press and field journalist enquiries;
  • Draft, edit and collate stories for monthly newsletters and distribute them; and
  • Track and report on results of communication activities.

Internal Communications

Act as lead on internal communications, liaising across the business to:

  • Draft, edit and collate stories for the internal news bulletin and deliver the bulletin;
  • Support the communication of ad hoc internal communications;
  • Support internal company and knowledge-share meetings;
  • Monitor and report on results of internal communications activities; and
  • Deliver the marketing introduction to new employees during induction training.


  • Act as a point of contact for website updates and either deliver updates or liaise with external agencies to deliver them;
  • Events – Maintain a calendar of external events and occasionally support them;
  • Act as an internal expert on the use of LinkedIn to help consultants build and extend their own influence; and
  • Attend and minute marketing meetings.

Reports to: Head of Marketing

Person specification:

Qualified to degree level and with relevant professional experience, you will be a proficient writer, able to identify key messages and eye-catching facts and figures in research and create engaging content that Eunomia’s audience wants to share. Ideally, you will also have experience of using social media to build audience.

As part of a small team (three in total), you will be highly motivated, proactive in generating work and, at times, able to work autonomously, with minimal instruction. You should also be confident enough in your knowledge to champion the business externally and the marketing function internally, at all levels of the business.


  • A passion for the environment, the principle that drives Eunomia
  • Ability to write fluent, creative copy with excellent grasp of spelling, grammar and usage, and the ability to adapt writing style
  • Experience of using social media to generate brand awareness and business leads, with an excellent understanding of LinkedIn and a good understanding of Twitter
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills, working in a calm, logical way to achieve tasks within set deadlines
  • A quick learner, able to assimilate complex ideas and translate these into simple terms
  • Motivated to work independently and in a team with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Willingness to ‘muck in’ and carry out all types of task as necessary.


  • Experience of working in a marketing or communications function
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience of community management and social listening tools
  • Experience of Google Analytics
  • CRM experience, particularly Mailchimp and template design
  • Content Management System (CMS) experience (e.g. Wordpress)
  • Experience of generating internal communications
  • Basic skills in editing graphics using Adobe software (InDesign, Photoshop) or other editing software.


Salary of £23,000 to £27,250 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Holiday Entitlement:
