Climate Change Officer

Grade F1 £32,029 to F3 £35,934 + Casual Car User Allowance

This new role will lead on shaping a low carbon future for Chichester District. Following our declaration of a Climate Emergency, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to help reduce carbon emissions across the district. You will have to opportunity to set up and run a new funding scheme for carbon reduction projects : the Low Carbon Chichester Fund. You will also lead on developing our Initial Action Plan, working with other teams and partner organisations to deliver a wide range of action and new policies.

This is a varied role and you will need in depth knowledge of energy efficiency measures and low- carbon technologies, and the ability to assess the effectiveness and value for money of proposals. The post will require you to communicate effectively the many complex issues around climate change to a variety of audiences within the community and the authority. The post holder will be an enthusiastic individual who demonstrates a high level of commitment to achieving service targets
