Role Purpose

Experienced in Civil Engineering site construction work, you will supervise contractors in the delivery of forestry harvesting infrastructure projects.

The role is to assist colleagues in achieving Natural Resources Wales’ policy and targets in Wales, through the supervision of NRW and contract resources.

Assist with the planning of upcoming works required to meet stakeholder’s expectations and in monitoring on-site construction activities, which are delivered via the NRW civil engineering framework contracts. You will be familiar with the requirements of managing health and safety on construction sites and the requirements of CDM15 in particular. Your work is fundamental to the delivery of our forest infrastructure programme.

The work is varied and includes supporting our team with data and financial management, issuing work, management of minor construction work as well as maintenance of forest roads, drainage, bridges, culverts and other associated assets, consultation with stakeholders, contractor management and project liaison.

You will deal with a range of internal colleagues, as well as dealing with the public and external organisations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant experience in site-based Civil Engineering and ground works operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CDM2015
  • Knowledge of site Surveying Techniques.
  • Experience in using GIS based computer packages.
  • Experience in MS Office suite of applications. E.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of mobile GPS, to be used in planning works, providing principal setting-out points and general surveying.
  • Full UK driving licence.
