The Sustainable Development Team seeks a knowledgeable and passionate individual to lead on the development of policies and guidance to protect and enhance East Riding of Yorkshire’s unique natural environment.

Duties include developing and delivering corporate policy and guidance to ensure that the council remains compliant with emerging environmental legislation. You will also work with communities, businesses and corporate and external partners to address key opportunities and threats related to the natural environment and biodiversity of the East Riding, including natural capital and invasive non-native species.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject and have a thorough understanding of legislation, guidance and best practice associated with biodiversity and the natural environment.

Based at County Hall, Beverley for 18.5 hours per week (days of work are flexible) with a requirement to travel to meetings inside and outside of East Riding of Yorkshire on occasions.
