We are seeking a confident, motivated and enthusiastic team player with a minimum of 5 years’ Ecological Consultancy experience (3+ years in a senior role) to join our friendly and busy consultancy based in South Wiltshire and operating across the south of England.

Full time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week).

Primary duties:

  • Preparation of ecological impact assessments
  • Leading protected species surveys and mitigation projects
  • Producing and reviewing detailed Ecological reports
  • Maintaining client and stakeholder relationships
  • Management of projects across Southern England
  • Staff mentoring and management

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Ecology or a related subject
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Consultant Ecologist (3+ years in a senior role)
  • Excellent knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques
  • Excellent Ecological report writing skills
  • Experience with organising teams and managing workload for multiple projects
  • Experience with a range of projects including small-scale developments, large-scale multi-phased developments and infrastructure projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • European Protected Species Licences
  • Personal Class licence, Dormouse GCN and Bats
  • Named Ecologist on dormouse EPS mitigation licences
  • Full, clean UK driver’s licence
  • Full CIEEM membership (or eligibility for Full CIEEM membership)

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • CAD experience (AutoCAD)
  • GIS Mapping Experience (QGIS)
  • CSCS card holder
  • Experience with BREEAM ecology credit requirements
