About us

UK100 is a network of highly ambitious local government leaders, who have pledged to secure the future for their communities by shifting to 100% clean energy by 2050. This is not just good for the planet but for the people and communities they serve, be they in villages, towns or cities. Local leaders are working together to create flourishing communities, seizing the opportunities of technology to create jobs and establishing a nationwide project of renewal, focussed on local needs and ambitions.

The Role

As a Campaigns Manager you will manage the design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of UK100’s ambitious and effective campaigns output. The post will also oversee the management and development of UK100’s network of local leaders and local authority officers by building partnership and enabling effective advocacy for ambitious action to tackle air pollution and the climate emergency.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Coordinate and manage communications with network members and build relationships with the relevant policy officers and councillors among our membership to share policy expertise.
  • Map and implement actions to broaden UK100’s membership of local government leaders, councillors and officers.
  • Organise and coordinate events such as party conference fringe events with national and local politicians, businesses and other stakeholders.
  • Lead on the design and dissemination of relevant updates via the UK100 e-newsletter and other communication channels and newsletters.
  • Help develop the shared advocacy priorities of city leaders to enable plans to be taken forward that tackle air pollution and the climate emergency with ambition and urgency.
  • Oversee advocacy from local leaders in the lead up to, and at, the COP 26 Climate Summit in November 2020.
  • Manage impactful projects: to time, on budget and that meet agreed KPIs.
  • Support the Programmes & Operations Manager in their tracking of the delivery of agreed KPIs for UK100 strategic KPIs and also for foundation grants.
  • Manage two staff that deliver effective media, PR and social media.
  • Represent UK100 at meetings and public events to promote ambitious action to tackle air pollution and the Climate Emergency from Local Authorities, national Government and business.
  • To support and comply with UK100’s guidance on branding, tone of voice and key messages, positively contributing towards raising UK100’s profile.
  • We are a small team. Ad hoc duties will thus arise, and every staff member is expected to support the team efforts.
