Contract: Fixed term (five months), Part time (21 hours per week).

Successful candidate may choose main location from our 4 centres in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to undertake an internship to train as an Education Officer within our People Engagement team. The post will be based at one of our environmental education centres at the following locations:

  • College Lake, Tring, Buckinghamshire.
  • Nature Discovery Centre, Thatcham, Berkshire.
  • Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre, Oxon.
  • Woolley Firs Environmental Education Centre, Maidenhead, Berkshire

The role will involve assisting, with a view to leading, our education programmes for schools and other groups visiting our education centres; helping to develop, resource and run parent and toddler sessions; supporting and developing the delivery of educational events for families, specialist groups and the general public (on and offsite); supporting external community engagement events, walks and talks.

We are looking for a bright, creative individual with a keen interest in British wildlife and a desire to communicate their knowledge of wildlife and habitats to children and their families.

This post offers a great opportunity to develop their skills in the environmental education field, build experience working with children in an outdoor setting and help to inspire the next generation on our very special sites.

This post will be DBS checked at enhanced level. A criminal conviction will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining the position.
