We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and passionate individual to join our Environmental Education Team as an Environmental Education Tutor.

Earth Trust is an environmental learning charity and guardian to some of South Oxfordshire’s most loved greenspaces. We provide access and opportunities for people to discover, appreciate and respect the natural world via the Oxfordshire landscapes that we look after, including the iconic Wittenham Clumps. We are at the start of a transformational project to rebuild our visitor centre and develop a state of the art environmental learning building allowing us to offer a wider range and greater number of activities.

As Environmental Education Tutor you will be part of a team delivering daily environmental education opportunities to children and young people. This role will work with other members of the Environmental Education team to develop our new education offers focusing on STEM/STEAM in the outdoors and has specific responsibility for the coordination of one of our main education programmes the Countryside Skills project. Countryside Skills is an exciting and transformative GCSE equivalent course delivered to 14-18-year olds, all taught on our farm and nature reserve. This role will require the post holder to engage with young people on a daily basis to inspire and motivate them.

The role will have challenging targets to raise the profile of our education offers, increase the numbers of young people engaged, as well as increasing income through the development of future offerings.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people in an outdoor environment, including those with a broad range of disabilities or challenging behaviour, and experience of bringing STEM/STEAM subjects into the natural environment. Being flexible, dynamic and have an aptitude for learning are key to this role, as is the ability to work independently and as part of team. You will need to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the outdoor environment and practical conservation methods.

You will demonstrate excitement about the Earth Trust’s strategic direction and a strong belief in your capacity to make a positive impact, and to meet targets and objectives.

The role is primarily based at our site in breath-taking countryside in South Oxfordshire.
