The Assistant Site Manager will assist the site manager in the successful management of estate, including managing the programme of management works, tendering contracts and carrying out tree safety inspections and PAWS assessments. The role will also work with volunteer group to deliver prescribed work programmes and deliver estate skills training to different visiting groups.

Specifically you’ll need experience of working with and managing countryside contracts and contractors, volunteer schemes and have engaged with a wide variety of countryside users, volunteers, visitors and neighbours. Ideally you will have a relevant qualification to support your experience. With a positive and results focussed approach you’ll be determined to seek successful outcomes from every scenario. You’ll be able to work and communicate with others effectively, be commercially aware and flexible to changing demands. You’ll be organised and thorough and have high standards and expectations for the works you manage. A full driving licence or the ability to undertake travel across a wide area, sometimes to remote locations is a must.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Whatever you do here you will be supporting our work to protect and enhance woods and trees. In return we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
