An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Policy Officer to support the John Muir Trust’s policy function.

This function develops Trust positions and responds to and informs public policy on matters of direct relevance and importance to our work, which is guided by our aims: to inspire people to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places and wild nature; to protect and conserve wild places; and to repair and rewild suitable areas of land.

The Junior Policy Officer role will involve: identifying and creating opportunities for local communities to inform Trust positions; working with colleagues to communicate public consultations and campaigns to key audiences, including young people; and supporting and co-ordinating research that provides an evidence base for Trust advocacy, campaigns and position statements.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills, experience of analysing information and a qualification or experience in a field of study relating to the Trust's work.
