Turnstone Ecology Ltd is an independent ecological consultancy with locations in Banbury, Derby and Shrewsbury with a portfolio of work both in the UK and worldwide. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced full-time Ecologists / Senior Ecologists for our Banbury, Shrewsbury and/or Derby teams to be based working from home.

We are keen to employ the right person rather than requiring any particular skill but a successful candidate will typically have;

  • Phase 1 habitat survey and protected species survey experience
  • Project management experience
  • Full driving licence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Report writing skills to a high standard
  • Ability to work hours often outside of typical working hours and in tough outdoor conditions
  • Experience of protected species surveys, including possession of EPS survey / development licences (NE and NRW)

Desirable skills include;

  • Ornithological ID skills, including experience of breeding, winter and vantage point surveys
  • Botanical ID skills
  • Degree or equivalent in an ecology related subject
  • Member of CIEEM

The successful applicant will need to be local to one of our offices (within an approximate 30-minute drive) or be willing / able to move to the area of the offices within six months of starting work for Turnstone Ecology.
