Job Title - Digital and PR Officer (South London)

Salary - Circa £24,000 D.O.E plus Veolia benefits *listed below

Location - Southwark and Lambeth

Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

This role does require travel across Southwark and Lambeth

What you’ll do

As the Digital and PR Officer, you will participate in the delivery of the digital and PR strategy across Veolia’s London region, ensuring you support all contracts in your area, and around the region when required. You will be responsible for identifying and developing news stories and content for internal and external audiences, and implementing it to achieve targets.

The Digital and PR Officer will work closely with the Regional Digital and PR Manager, and the area and contract managers to develop and deliver engaging digital communication and PR strategies, to meet contract objectives and deliver results. You will develop relationships with local, regional and trade media and handle all PR enquiries. You will also develop relationships with client communication teams. 

You will proactively monitor social media and other relevant channels for content, issues and commentary relating to Veolia’s contracted services, identifying opportunities to improve processes within your remit and across the region.

The experience you will need

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level in a subject relevant to either communications or environment or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the communication mix and content production across multiple formats
  • Understanding of social media, social advertising and digital communication channels
  • Ability to analyse and report on data and use it shape activities
  • Experience dealing with media proactively and reactively
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

Desirable:

  • Graphics, filming and video editing skills (Willingness to learn)
  • Industry Knowledge

Where you’ll work 

You will be part of a regional team based at Vauxhall but your time will be divided between the contract locations you support (Southwark and Lambeth). There may also be requirements to travel to other locations around London from time to time.
