Resources and Waste Advisory Group Ltd is a specialist consulting firm operating in the waste management and environmental sustainability sectors. We have recently absorbed behaviour change agency EnviroComms into our fold to expand our public communications offering; an arrangement that starts early in 2020 with two major projects in London,

We’re looking for a super-efficient project manager to work across two projects in London from February to April 2020. This is a field-based role and you’ll be responsible for the management and coordination of up to 10 public engagement advisors undertaking doorstep engagement and event engagement activities promoting improvements to environmental behaviours.

One project will take place in the London Borough of Hackney where doorstep engagement will be used to tackle the burning of illegal solid fuels. The other is a series of 16 public engagement events promoting waste minimisation messages to the people across four South West London Boroughs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting out daily work plans including route planning for doorstep engagement
  • Maintaining project performance according to KPIs
  • Establishing daily work rotas
  • Assigning daily tasks and targets to team members
  • Maintaining quality standards and adherence to health and safety requirements
  • Event management and logistical support
  • Coordination of data acquisition
  • Acting as primary contact point between company, client and field staff
  • Contribution to project reporting
  • You will also be expected to undertake public engagement alongside the teams.

You’ll need to have the following skills, experience and attributes;

  • Proven ability to motivate and manage teams of people
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to act autonomously and under your own initiative
  • Good IT skills in Excel and the use of hand-held tablets
  • A flexible approach and ‘can-do’ attitude
  • A full UK driving licence

No experience or knowledge of the environmental issues that the projects are promoting is essential (though welcome if you have it) as full training is provided but you must demonstrate empathy to environmental improvement.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from people from all walks of life. However, you should be aware that you will be required to walk several miles each day and spend extended periods on your feet. Please note that a working week will run from Wednesdays to Sundays.

Whilst this contract will run only to April, there does exist the potential for an extension. Plus, you will be fast-tracked to any future projects should they arise (subject to performance).

CVs and a covering letter or email is all you need to apply and contact us if you have any questions about the role.

No agencies please.
