Stagfire Ecological Surveys Ltd is looking for an experienced Environmental Advisor/Environmental Clerk of Works to join our team in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

The role will involve working for various clients on large scale infrastructure projects, largely in the renewable sector, and will be site based. It will involve regular environmental audits and inspections to monitor compliance with environmental legislation and company environmental procedures and ensure environmental controls are in place and effective.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.


  • A valid UK driving licence;
  • CSCS card holder;
  • Ability to prove that you have the right to work in the UK;
  • A willingness to travel and work in remote locations on your own or as part of a team;
  • An excellent understanding of the environmental issues and mitigation strategies associated with terrestrial construction activities;
  • A solid understanding of the statutory duties and responsibilities that companies have towards the environment during construction activities;
  • Excellent knowledge of and experience in applying legislation and best practice;
  • An ability to communicate well with people from ground working teams up to higher management levels;
  • Excellent diary and record keeping abilities;
  • Have sufficient strength of character to put your opinions across when you may be the sole environmental representative.


  • Member of AEECOW/CIEEM or other accredited body;
  • Previous experience of renewable energy construction sites;
  • An ecological specialism (mammals, birds, botany etc).
