Soil Association Certification Limited (SACL) is the UK’s leading certification body for
organic farming, production and forestry. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Soil
Association, the leading environmental charity campaigning for people and planet-friendly food
and farming.
As part of the ongoing development process of our global Forestry programme, we are now
recruiting and welcome interest from highly motivated individuals with suitable qualifications
and experience to contribute to the delivery our forestry and chain of custody certification
schemes.
About the opportunity
This role will be supporting across all our Forestry certification teams Worldwide.
Your role
The Certification Officer role is a supporting role assisting team members who deal with Forest
Managers and/or wood processors guiding new and existing clients through certification
processes in a timely manner. You will ensure that all requirements relating to Forest
Stewardship Council® (FSC®), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™)
and other relevant bodies are met and adhered to.
About you
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in Forestry, Wood
Science, Ecology, Environment or related subject. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, computer literacy and a confident approach to service delivery and the ability to
provide solutions within tight deadlines are essential.
You will also have substantial administrative and customer care experience alongside experience
of forest management, environmental management, wood industry or related discipline. It would
also be advantageous to have competency in a second language particularly any of the following;
Chinese, Spanish, Romanian, Russian, Turkish.
