About the role:
Based at the TCV office in Bristol but working throughout Bristol, Somerset & Gloucestershire and occasionally beyond.
The focus of the role will be leading the Avon Biodiversity Action Team This exciting role supports TCV in enabling people and communities to improve their health, prospects and outdoor places. We have an outstanding track record of delivering conservation, community and health projects and want to build on this whilst continuing to meet the needs of our diverse communities, existing and potential partners and becoming a beacon of best practice for us nationally.
This role, working 21 hours per week, is focused on delivering practical conservation
volunteering opportunities across the area for our regular volunteer group, working on a range
of sites for an array of different landowners. You will be a strong team player with a can-do
approach, bringing creativity and innovation to the team.
The post holder will support the Operations Leader in delivering the TCV Strategic Plan
including business development and fundraising.

The Conservation Volunteers support a flexible approach to determining the hours worked by the post holder, although they will be expected to remain flexible , with some weekend and evening work to be expected.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with volunteers and community groups. Knowledge of practical conservation skills, woodland & countryside management issues. Additional knowledge or experience in arboriculture, horticulture, hard landscaping would be advantageous. Our projects work with volunteers and people with a wide variety of ages, abilities and backgrounds. The successful candidate is likely to have experience of working with many sectors of the community delivering diverse activities.
The post holder will be based at the CREATE centre and will be part of the TCV South of England team with quarterly team meeting in TCV’s Reading office.
A full driving licence (for a manual transmission vehicle) is essential, (which has been held for a minimum of one year), as the post holder has use of company vehicles. D1 entitlement on your licence is essential.
