Closing date: Friday, 20th December 2019

The Wychwood Project is an environmental conservation charity that inspires people to value and restore landscapes and habitats across an area of 120 square miles and 41 parishes of west Oxfordshire, known since the 12th century as the Wychwood Forest. Formed in 1997, we have a vision of a thriving natural landscape, rich in wildlife and habitats, enjoyed by and benefitting all. We aim to achieve this through both traditional and creative land management approaches on our own suite of nature reserves, and by working in collaboration with the Wychwood’s local communities, land owners, businesses and schools. We have close links with and support from our county and district councils and a strong public and corporate membership base.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compelling communicator to coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Wychwood Project’s external communication with members, partners, the public and other stakeholders. You will help us develop positive interactions with people through traditional and digital media, our brand image, and a considered programme of public engagement events.

The successful applicant will have the organisational and technical skills we need, but also an interest in countryside matters and the enthusiasm to help us make the case for a wilder Wychwood Forest. This is an interesting time to be joining the Wychwood Project as we take on new sites and plan to grow our impact with new habitat restoration projects.

The full job description is available to download from our website. This is a new role for the organisation offered for one year in the first instance, with every opportunity for the role to develop. Terms and conditions may be negotiable for the right applicant. If you think you have the skills and abilities that we need, then please send us a current cv and a covering letter explaining why to info@wychwoodproject.org.uk

The closing date for applications is Friday 20th December at 10am. Interviews will be held in the week commencing 6th January.
