We’re now looking for an experienced Project Manager to take a lead on our circular economy and products work. You will have a good understanding of the concepts and applications of circular economy principles combined with the ability to translate this into practical advice which helps companies understand the opportunity and move forward on their journey. You have a strong track record of manging projects in the sustainability or responsible sourcing sector either as a consultant, or in-house sustainability role or NGO.

At Bioregional you will have the opportunity to lead and grow your own team. You will be our go-to sustainable products person, working on some of our existing flagship projects. You will take the lead on shaping your work stream, through delivering thought leadership, representing Bioregional at conferences and events and developing relationships with potential new clients. You will inspire our ambitious project officers, helping them to deliver excellent work and developing their skills and careers.

Experience and responsibilities

The post holder will have a strong background and qualifications in environment and sustainability with more than 4 years relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a strong interest and knowledge of sustainability, from an environmental and/or social perspective, based on personal conviction as well as academic and/or practical experience.
  • Be a balanced all-rounder with good competencies in numeracy and research to create an evidence base, excel at presentation, persuasion and reassurance to win hearts and minds in the process and good leadership and collaboration skills.

The role has three main areas of responsibility:

  • Working with sector-leading retailers, restaurants, and other companies to scale-up social and environmental performance
  • Helping develop the overall strategy of the Sustainable Business service area.
  • Take a lead in bringing in new business through identification of opportunities within the sector.

The post is permanent and full-time, and is based at our offices at the award-winning BedZED eco-village in South London, on the mainline Victoria and Thameslink train lines.

Salary: £35k – 40k depending on experience, plus 6% ethical pension contribution, and 25 days annual leave – rising by one day for each year of service up to 30 days.
