We work in an exciting conservation partnership with Barratt Developments plc, Britain's largest house builder, to deliver a shared vision for nature rich new housing developments.

We are looking for someone with applied ecological knowledge and strong engagement skills to join the team.

Salary starting at: £25,463 to £27,585 per annum. Applicants should expect under normal circumstances to receive an offer at the bottom of the advertised range.
Hours: Full time
Contract: Fixed Term Contract to 31 March 2023
Please note, there is potential for this post to be extended with successful extension of the partnership

You will be responsible for fostering close links with Barratt teams, and providing advice to help conserve priority species including swifts, hedgehogs and pollinating insects. You will be involved in generating opportunities for nature in greenspace landscape designs, wildlife gardens and the built environment.

The partnership works strategically to realise net-gain for biodiversity in the context of sustainable development across the company's operations, and to provide people with nature rich places to live. As well providing advice, you will be the primary link between RSPB specialists and the company to help information exchange on a range of aspects including sustainability policy, natural capital, monitoring, and species ecology.

The role includes producing case studies, communications materials and representing the partnership at conferences and events. It sits within the RSPB's Sector Advice team, which works with businesses and land owners to create habitats, conserve rare species and to provide a better environment in which to live

You will be a confident communicator, with organisational and project management skills, and the drive to make things happen. Experience of working with businesses and of supporting and/or delivering urban conservation would also be an advantage.
