About us

Managed by the City of London Corporation, Epping Forest and Hampstead Heath are two of London’s largest and most popular green spaces. They offer a wealth of resources for education, exploration and connection with the natural world. We see these sites as ideal outdoor classrooms, where children and young people can engage with the landscape, understand more about local heritage and, above all, enjoy learning and have fun.

The role

Working closely with our Learning Manager, Education Rangers and learning volunteers, as well as schools, families and community partners, you’ll make use of these unique resources to build children’s confidence, wellbeing and engagement with the outdoors. In particular, you’ll create and deliver a programme of schools sessions designed to support and enrich the National Curriculum. Although the focus will be on primary schools, you can expect to work with a range of ages and key stages.

About you

An experienced educator, you’ll have a track-record of developing and delivering learning programmes, including teaching children and young people in an outdoor setting. With a PGCE or equivalent, you’ll bring a good working knowledge of the National Curriculum and be ready to devise learning activities that deliver clear outcomes. The ability to assess and manage risks is key. Creative and well-organised, you’ll also be a strong team player with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
