Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the leading conservation organisation in Suffolk, committed to achieving the best outcomes for biodiversity on its reserves. We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Conservatiion team.

You will be a key part of the Conservation Team, working with others to deliver the best outcomes for biodiversity through planning and also species and habitat recovery projects.

Responding to Local Plans is a key area of our work. You will ensure that plan policies are robust in protecting and enhancing biodiversity and that site allocations avoid sites of biodiversity interest and maximise opportunities for biodiversity gain. Reviewing and responding to large planning applications will also form part of the role. In particular, locally designated sites (known as County Wildlife Sites) support a key resource of Priority habitats and species. You will lead the Trust’s work to ensure these sites are safeguarded through the planning process.

You will also play a key part in assisting with the delivery of a range of conservation projects, which may include surveys and monitoring and you will be actively encouraged to develop expertise in one or more specific areas.

The nature of this role means that a full driving licence is essential.

Closing date: Friday 1 November 2019
Interview date: Monday 18th November 2019 at Brooke House, Ashbocking
